Feelings and the move

It really is amazing the things you have been saying lately. Last night you had a very high fever, so I went to check on you at 3AM. You were very interested in what daddy was doing. You said, "Where's daddy? I miss him." I about died. It was the sweetest thing you have said yet. You are really talking well now. In fact, you are speaking in sentences more often than not and you are not even 2! Your favorite thing to do right now is say, "Mommy hold you", because you hold me, not the other way around :). You like to ask about daddy when he's not around and you cry for mommy when I am not around - needless to say, you have mastered the manipulation stage. We must sing at least 4 songs before you even consider going to bed; often it turns into 8. You can easily say all of your primary colors, including black and white and you are saying many numbers, though not in order. You have also officially moved out of the highchair and into a booster at the table - you feel like such a big girl. We went through about a week of you being a picky eater, but it seems things are back on track.

Perhaps the biggest change we are about to make in your life thus far is a move to St. Louis. I have stressed about this for some time, but I think the time is right and we will be happy we did. Leaving behind your daycare is by far the hardest thing about leaving Columbia. You have bloomed and done so well at the Child Development Lab and I will always be thankful we were able to have you there for the time we did. I owe much of your intelligence to their superior care. I hope the transition to the new center(s) is ok. You are very slow to warm up to new environments and it may take some time to make you comfortable. We are going to split you between two places until one becomes available full-time.

I will update later on the transition. I need to get to bed, as you may be waking up again tonight!

Love,

mommy
